The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of an External Sales Specialist to work within a forward thinking Builders Merchant. You will play a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day sales targets are achieved as well as to be able to push, motivate and bring healthy competition within the sales team. You will be responsible for serving our customers and building strong relationships to generate sales.You should have good rounded knowledge of the type of products sold within the construction industry especially within a builder's merchant setting. The successful candidate will be required to deal extensively with our customers to identify their needs by providing product advice to customers, dealing with quotes and queries, liaising with drivers regarding deliveries and actively seeking sales through customer contacts in order to maximise sales opportunities.
Reporting to the Sales Manager, your responsibility will include:
*Making calls in order to close the leads that have been generated
*Achieving sales targets and deadlines
*Upselling across the product range
*Building strong customer relations
*Generating new business
*Attending weekly sales meetings to inform the team of progress
*Ad hock tasks projects .
The Person
We are seeking a tenacious salesperson, with at least 5 years' experience within the construction sector, has proven sales and a track record of performance, as well as experience working in a professional team environment. You must have the ability to remain professional at all times and be good at multitasking. You should have previous experience in selling construction products and excellent product knowledge and commercial awareness within this industry.
