- Description
- Reporting to the Lead /Managing Quantity Surveyor, the Quantity Surveyor is responsible for all commercial and contractual matters on the site allocated to them to successfully deliver that project. On larger more intricate projects may be required to carry out the same tasks for a section or sections of the works reporting to a Lead /Managing Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager.
Job Role:
*Support the LQS in preparation, negotiation and agreement of change events and final accounts.
*Undertake the project contract administration, including change control management and maintain associated registers within governance and adopt best practice
*Preparation of internal commercial reporting on a monthly based and any other reports which may be required by the Company
*Preparation of Valuations for applications for payment, required for the project, with full supporting documentation in accordance with the associated contract
*Be able to establish professional relationships with clients, colleagues and others involved in projects
*Manage and administer contracts in accordance with project and company policies and objectives
*Accurately monitor and forecast project costs in line with budgets and report to throughout project lifecycle to completion.
*Monitor /manage any cost variance on the project
*Provide accurate contract cash flow forecasts in line with revenue expectations for the project
*Ensure applications are made timely and accurately
*Provide commercial knowledge and support as required to delegated support (such as AQS)
Principal Duties & Accountabilities:
*Strong organisation, administrative and analytical skills with the ability to convey results in a clear and concise way.
*Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, (Includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
*Cost forecasting
*Cost and Value Reconciliation
*Reporting
*Valuations and assessments of applications for payments
*Analysis of Contractor assessments /certifications
*Use of excel and spreadsheet
*Working well within the team
Key Experience:
*A degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or similar / Equivalent HND
*Experience working for a rail contractor or similar sector
*Experience in one of the following fields; Mechanical, Electrical (Preferred), Public Heath, Telecoms (Preferred)
