- Unity Recruitment are currently seeking a branch manager for a specialist builders merchants.
The position is available for an immediate start and is a permanent position.
Salary 40k + 10% bonus.
Hours of work: Monday - Friday (07:00 - 17:30) and alternative Saturdays (07:00 - 15:00)
The role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of a Branch Manager within a forward thinking Builders Merchant. You will play a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and will be responsible for a team of up to 10 persons ensuring that all task are carried out efficiently and accurately, ensuring that methods that are put into place is followed in its entirety and that the organisation runs to its maximum productivity. You should have a good commercial awareness of a builder's merchant will become a part of a great very financially driven team, focused on going the extra mile for our customers.
Reporting to the Operational Manager, your responsibility will include:
*Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organisations mission
*Manage and increase the effectiveness and efficiency of Support Services
*Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence, such as Health and Safety requirements.
*Ensuring processes such as goods are picked in time and in full, ensuring goods "out loaded" are checked before leaving, as well as, goods "In bound" are checked for accuracy before accepting and off loaded
*Ensuring goods are stored as per branch location plan.
*Oversee production to ensure orders are fulfilled and stock is at required level and quality.
*Develop plan for Internal and External housekeeping: - ensure branch is in first class order at all times.
*Complete Monthly Health & Safety audits.
*Regular meetings with Operations Manager on business needs and performance of team.
*Contribute to short and long-term organisational planning and strategy as a member of the management team.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be organised and result focused. You will be supportive and understanding of the business needs, whilst have a tenacious approach to problem solving. You will be expected to harness a fast paced working environment which encourages team work, energy and creativity by demonstrating strong leadership and excellent problem-solving skills along with good communication skills. It is essential that you have a proven track record in a similar role within the building Industry with at least 3 years' experience.
