The Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for the role of an Internal Trade Sales to work within a forward thinking Builders Merchant. You will play a vital role in ensuring the day-to-day sales targets are achieved as well as to be able to push, motivate and bring healthy competition within the sales team. You will be responsible for serving our customers and building strong relationships to generate sales. Whatever our customers need, whenever they need it, you will ensure they can 'get it straight from ABC Depot. You should have good rounded knowledge of the type of products sold within the construction industry especially within a builder's merchant setting. The successful candidate will be required to deal extensively with our customers to identify their needs by providing product advice to customers, dealing with quotes and queries, liaising with drivers regarding deliveries and actively seeking sales through customer contacts in order to maximise sales opportunities.
Reporting to the Branch Manager, your responsibility will include:
*Taking orders and dealing with enquiries
*Responsible for a customer ledger
*Meet targets and deadlines
*Generate new business opportunities
*Maintaining and developing relationships with customers via telephone calls, emails and face to face
*Challenging any objections with a view of getting customers to buy
*Actively dealing with all sales enquiries, converting sales and offering appropriate upsells
*Supporting other departments as and when required
*Stock replenishment in the shop as and when required
The Person
We are seeking a tenacious salesperson, with at least 2 years' experience within a similar role, has proven sales and a track record of performance, as well as experience working in a professional team environment. You must have the ability to remain professional at all times and be a good at multitasking. You should have previous experience in selling construction products and excellent product knowledge and commercial awareness within this industry.
