Description
Rapidly expanding Blinds Business looking for an Operations/General Manager that is able to effectively manage a small but growing team on a day to day basis. We are looking for someone who who is extremely hands on and will be mainly site based in Eastcote. We are looking for someone with excellent people skills who brings energy to the role and is able to use initiative, has management experience, and a technical background. Would suit someone who has overseen a key department exposed to manufacturing and sales.

Established for over 15 years and offering a full range of window blinds, conservatory blinds, plantation shutters and awnings, our client is both a manufacturer and supplier and a leader in bespoke and specialised blinds products in London and the home counties. We supply to mainly retail customers including some larger corporates as well as trade customers.


Objectives:

*Manage and grow a small team of blinds experts, improving what we do and how we do it using initiative and implementing new ideas
*Reduction of waste and remedials by 50% within 6 months and 75% within the first year
*Implement and manage our Health and Safety policy, HR processes, and staff training
*Bring all areas of the business together to work as one team
*Improve customer satisfaction levels and manage all aspects of the process from the sale through to installation; including service recovery
*Assist with recruitment as the company grows to bring on board the best people and create an excellent team
*Work closely with the sales team to support the growth plans of the company
*Manage supplier relationships and accounts; in particular to ensure our product range is market leading, our quality is the best, and our pricing is competitive.

Skills and Responsibilities

*Proven management skills and the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and work hands on with a small but diverse team including: managing meetings, team one to ones, training, and discipline
*Analytical thinker who can set and monitor KPI's, track performance and implement efficiencies
*Ability to learn the technical side of blinds and apply a logical and practical approach to new ideas and problem solving both with manufacturing and installation and throughout the business
*A self-starter with the ability to work on their own initiative in a fast-paced environment
*Energetic, enthusiastic and professional in approach and demeanour with the team, our suppliers and our customers
*Excellent communication skills (by phone, email and face to face)
*Highly organised individual with excellent time management and multi-tasking skills who can work well to deadlines when under pressure
*High levels of resilience, tenacity, enthusiasm and drive
*Proactive, results-orientated and target-driven individual with a passion for growing the business
*Working knowledge of the MS Office Package (Word, Excel) as well as e-mail and iPad proficient.


As a small family business, this role is pivotal in our expansion plans and is an exciting and challenging opportunity. It is extremely hands on and will require a high level of organisation, prioritising and energy. This role would suit someone who likes to be managed to kpis and report weekly to the CEO without the day to day interference.

*Basic salary (Negotiable) plus commission linked to performance.
*Salary paid monthly via BACS
