£40,000- £50,000 per annum
Our client is a world-renowned supplementary education provider offering maths and English study programmes for children of all ages and abilities. There are currently over 70,000 students studying at 680 franchised study centres across the UK.
They are currently looking to recruit an experienced data protection officer to work within our in-house Legal team in our Ealing offices.
Key responsibilities of this role will include:
** Create and implement a strategy for compliance under GDPR and other EU and local data protection obligations.
** Introduce the mechanisms required in order to facilitate cross border data transfers.
** Implement and maintain a framework for managing data protection and privacy issues across the company and ensure compliance with the applicable laws and regulations.
** Carry out data protection audits and investigations, compile reports on the findings, make recommendations and assist in the implementation of the same.
** Regular international travel to other offices
The successful candidate must have:
** Educated to Degree level
** Data protection qualification (e.g. IESB in data protection / CIPP certification or qualified solicitor with substantial data protection experience)
** Minimum 3 years of data protection and privacy experience
** Expertise in global data protection laws, regulations and practices and an in-depth understanding of GDPR
** Working knowledge of IT security and network architecture is preferable
** Ability to communicate effectively with the highest levels of management and other key senior stakeholders within the group
** Experience of conducting data privacy compliance reviews and audits
** Ability to work independently and pro-actively
The interview process will consist of:
1. Initial phone interview with the hiring manager.
2. If successful you will be invited to attend an orientation meeting/assessment day, in a centre around the country, all expenses paid. The assessment day will not be solely based on tests, but also presentations.
3. The final stage will be a presentation followed by a Q&A session and a face-to-face interview.
