- Unity are currently looking for an NDT Technician to join a client based in Southampton to support a newly installed Wheel-Shop.
Duties:
- Undertaking in process quality checks ensuring products comply with specifications.
- Performing nondestructive inspections on all components.
- Recording, organising and evaluating test results and generating NDT inspection reports.
- Highlighting any non-conformances and actively contributing to the overall quality of the product and processes.
- Maintaining test equipment and calibration is compliant for tests to be performed. Understanding the materials to be tested, how they are manufactured and the impact on the end product.
- Liaising with all departments to enhance the overall product/process quality is of the very highest standard.
Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Able to use own initiative and develop new ways of working
- Flexible and self-motivated
- Required to have a valid Level 2 certificate in ultrasonic techniques and have the skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests and to interpret, evaluate and document results.
* The successful candidate should come from a proven Rail background *
