- Description
- Trainee Estimator/Project Manager or Estimator/Project Manager to join a small internal fit out company - specialising in hygienic finishes.
The Managing Director, other Project Managers and new candidate will share the projects/estimating.
Need someone to start straight away - immediate vacancy
Travelling out and above to sites to estimate works or project manage (company will pay business mileage) or when there is a spare company van available, you can take this to appointments.
Hours 8 - 5pm with 1 hour lunch Mon-Fri
Sometimes if there is a job which starts over a weekend, the successful candidate may possibly have to go to site on Saturday to start the guys off on the job.
Would be good if you have CSCS or SSSTS. If not, training for SSSTS will be available.
The company will look at both someone they can possibly train up with a little knowledge of estimating already or someone who has already held this position before. (salary dependent on whether a trainee or experienced)
Rough outline of tasks:
Estimating:
Pricing enquiries that we receive from either Bills of Quantities or drawings. Sometimes a site visit is require to enable to quote.
Project Manager:
When an order has been placed, you would have to liaise with clients and installers.
Sometimes attending pre-start meetings.
You would be expected to run the project, sometimes several projects at a time.
The projects range from small to large jobs.
MD and other project manager will be Project Managing the larger projects. This consists of visiting site, preparing rams, ordering materials for the job (mostly materials come from stock from their warehouse so just completed an ex stock order) and placing the appropriate labour onto the project (whether that is inhouse fitters or external sub-contractors).
Ensuring the project runs smoothly without any snags and to time and that any extra works required are logged so they can invoice correctly at the end of the project.
