- My client, a rapidly expanding innovative digital parking management and payment technology company are recruiting for a head of business.
The company:
A smart cities innovation that uses number plate recognition cameras to detect payment
events and bill drivers accordingly. Our focus is currently on parking: our cameras 'see' drivers entering and exiting car parks and then bills them automatically.
Job brief
Head of Operations' responsibilities include designing processes, implementing best
practices that are both scalable and repeatable, overseeing customer service, ensuring sites
go live on time, and implementing technological improvements.
You should be a communicative leader who sets clear expectations and are led by data driven decision-making. You should acquire broad knowledge of the business and
automatically think "how can we improve what we do" across the entire business.
Lastly, you have technical acumen and the ability to work closely with the Product and Tech
teams.
Ultimately, you'll ensure our operations run smoothly, KPIs are hit, and that people are
productive.
Responsibilities
* Translate high-level strategy into a clear vision with action plans and policies. These
will cover:
o Ensuring all sites are onboarded and go-live on time
o Ensuring all admin processes are executed within timelines and to a high
standard
o Ensuring compliance with all regulations (e.g. data protection)
* Build a performance culture, which values continuous improvement and learning
from mistakes
Day-to-day activities
* Implement efficient processes and operational best practices to improve quality,
increase productivity and/or profitability
* Set appropriate goals and KPI's by utilising resources effectively, communicating
clearly, and holding people to account
* Report on operational performance so other Senior Management can quickly and
easily assess department health
* Plan for and ensure efficient onboarding of new sites (often several at a time), to
strict deadlines by managing both the internal team and contractors
* Manage three teams: onboarding, install, and internal admin
* Document all processes and procedures, and ensure regular reviews for
improvement
* Manage and review contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners, and
other stakeholders
* General HR
Requirements and skills
* Ability to think Big Picture and how the entire organisation is tied together across
departments
* Led by data-driven decision making
* Forensic approach to distilling learnings from successes and failures
* Previous track record of identifying and pulling the relevant levers to optimise
performance in a constantly changing environment
* Experience with implementing technological solutions to replace manual ones
* Ability to project manage multiple projects at the same time
* Must be able to identify, assess, monitor, control and mitigate risks to the company
* Ability to be client-facing when scoping out projects - including pushing back when
needed
* Analytical mind - ability to think slowly and broadly about the business and how we
can scale and improve
* A strong communicator with an ability to be forceful when needed - both with
internal and external stakeholders
* Problem-solving aptitude
* Delivery-focused mindset
* This is an office-based role - East Croydon
Ultimately, we are looking for a dynamic senior operational leader who shares our values

Salary
* Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 DOE.
