Infrastructure Projects - Track, High Output

The key purpose of the Infrastructure Projects Track function is the efficient delivery of track renewals and enhancements through improved specification, better utilisation of resources and the professional control and management of projects. Its focus is to renew and enhance the rail infrastructure to deliver our commitments for the future through increased efficiency and value for money.
To lead, direct and organise a multi-disciplined site and the construction work carried out by staff, and subcontractors employed by our client.
Key Accountabilities
* To make sure that Health & Safety and Welfare of staff under their control including carrying out safety briefs to all staff. Delegating to your Supervisor, ensuring he is fully up to date in your absence when you are unavailable. Responsible for all on-site activities and are required to undertake on-call responsibilities, where applicable.
* Liaise with project Engineering / Technical staff.
* Resource estimating in conjunction with the Engineering team and the monitoring of resources to ensure projects are delivered to budget and specification.
* Provide information for progress reporting.
* Maintain accurate records of site resources, labour, materials and plant.
* Provide daily resource sheets, weekly plant returns, weekly materials returns and subcontract performance reports.
* Responsible for all work is completed to specification and Task Briefing Sheets/Work Package Plans
* Responsible for the inspection and maintenance of allocated site welfare, vehicles and equipment and carry out track inspections as required and directed by the Site Manager.
* Produce snagging lists with Network Rail and plan the execution of the works and attend and give input to planning of the works including white board meetings and de-briefs.
* Undertake Works Managers role on sites during the mid-week and weekend as required.
* Support and promote the working processes and practices and reinforce behaviours at every opportunity.
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
* Hold PTS/Sentinel, ECS and SMSTS Certificate of Competence.
* Experience Managing a multi-disciplined site in a rail environment with a track record of delivery to both budget and programme expectations.
* Knowledge of standards, design procedures and safety legislation in the rail industry.
* Understanding of other discipline activities
* Hold recognised leadership in management course
