- Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor - Fulfilment
Reporting To: Branch Manager, WFinchley
Salary: £25-30K
Hours of Work: 10am-8pm - Monday to Friday
7am-3pm - two Saturdays every month
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
*Oversee the safe order picking, packing and preparation for loading as well as the staging, optimised loading and despatch of goods.
*Ensure that warehouse health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stored goods.
*Plan the arrangement of goods within the area of responsibility and organise special requirements for certain stock; such as for bulky or fragile products.
*Ensure that productivity targets are met and maintain computerised administration and records.
*Manage teams of staff and deal with matters related to recruitment, training and the performance management of staff.
*Ensure safety checks are performed for site plant, material handling equipment, facilities and manual handling processes; as required and as scheduled.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Goods - Out
*Ensure customer orders are released to the warehouse for picking in a timely manner.
*Ensure orders are efficiently picked, packed and prepared for despatch.
*Ensure completed orders are staged and efficiently loaded and secured for departure so as to minimise vehicle turn-around times.
*Perform quality checks on all departing shipments and ensure discrepancies/damages are reported.
Plant & Equipment Maintenance
*Undertake daily checks on forklifts, report defects and arrange repairs as required.
*Undertake safety checks on bench saws and maintain good working order.
*Undertake safety checks on tools and ensure they are in good working order
Health & Safety
*Ensure that work area and yard are kept clean and tidy at all times; maintaining safe stacking of materials.
*Initiate prompt treatment by an approved first aider in the event of accidents and incidents and update the accident register once able to do so.
*Ensure the safe control and storage of flammable materials.
*Issue correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) to all staff and ensure they are used whenever necessary.
Staff Training & Development
*Plan and deliver staff training when necessary and maintain staff training and performance records.
Staff Management
*Manage staff such that they work efficiently and effectively and in a safe working environment.
*Manage and monitor tea/smoking and lunch time breaks and rota.
*Approve and manage staff holidays (one person per team at any one time).
*Check and approve overtime and maintain document evidence for the same.
Site Security
*Be vigilant at ensuring a secure site by challenging visitors to the premises and monitoring the movement of goods carrying vehicles on and off the site. Ensure that camera and other surveillance security systems are in good working order and operation.

Experience
*At least five years of professional work experience in warehousing/logistics.
*At least three years experience supervising staff in a warehousing environment.
*Experience working with and being directed by management.
*Evidence of continued professional and personal development.
