- Unity Recruitment are seeking an experienced Highways Technician.
The Highways Technician is responsible for overseeing all aspects of M&E Technology works including cable installations and terminations minor works and testing both new and existing installations. This role will be 100% site based and involve working across various locations, all around the M25 and National Highways.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with Project Management on labour workforce levels, materials and project progression
*Ensure optimum labour levels at all times
*Maintain existing assets
*Installation of new and replacement of existing technology assets
*Mentoring of Apprentices, incl reporting and allocating of work
*Supervising or Sub Contractors & Stakeholders when on site
*Manage the day-to-day workload of the workforce to ensure the works are completed as planned
*Ensure all health and safety standards are being adhered to
*Report any issues or concerns back to the Project Manager to ensure these are managed effectively
*Compile daily and weekly reporting
*Ensure all equipment is maintained and report any breakages if needed
*Read, interpret and communicate site drawings
*Check test certificates to ensure works has been completed correctly
*Work closely with M&E Engineers with regard to installation and buildability
*Mark up of site installation drawings / documentation
Essential Qualifications
*SSSTS/SMSTS
*C&G 18th Edition
*NVQ Level 3 in Highways Electrotechnology
*HERS ECS Supervisor Card
*National Highways Safety Passport
